Dear Church Family and Friends,
In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling, that same sex marriage will now be imposed on all states and must be recognized by federal law, The Father’s House leadership want to make these clarifying statements on our position regarding marriage.
- God defined marriage from the beginning as an intimate, covenant relationship between one man and one woman lasting a lifetime (Genesis 2:18-24). Jesus confirms this view in Matthew 19:4-6. We see God’s definition of marriage as eternal truth for the ages instead of a cultural view that can be redefined as culture “progresses”.
- We are committed to teach Biblical truth regarding marriage and sexuality. This truth is what brings hope, health and healing to broken people and families.
- All people, including those who identify as LGBT persons, are created equally in the eyes of God and deserve to hear about His love and be received into our church with respect. Everyone is welcome to be a part of The Fathers House family, even though we might think differently on this and other important topics. Let us remind you that we are all in various stages of healing and deliverance and no one is exempt from needing a home church where they can work through their issues, be healed from their past and be involved in the ongoing process of developing their belief system according to Biblical truth.
We want to let you know that Pastor Dave will be speaking on the topics of marriage in our current culture and same-sex issues; August 1st–2nd and 8th–9th.
